So I'm sure most people should be well aware by now the upcoming Fox summer blockbuster X-Men Origins: Wolverine, was prematurely (some might say maliciously) leaked online exactly 1 month prior to the scheduled release date in May. The heads over at Fox have been fuming over this threat to their investment... apparently not just on account of the leak itself, but the fact that the version leaked out was what they see as a 'misrepresentation' of the movie (as they put it). Essentially an old copy missing key music, numerous CGI scenes and even 10 minutes in length..Not good... not good at all . You gotta imagine someone somewhere right at this very moment is perhaps (how should I put it politely)... crapping their pants? The FBI's gotten involved and it's pretty much a given the perpetrator/s will eventually be discovered. But the damage has already been done. Generally I prefer to watch my summer blockbusters without the green screens and visible wires (tends to take you out of the movie don't you think?)... so I'm steering clear of that floating workprint version... but yeah... I think it's time for Fox to re-examine some of its security policies. You can read up more of Fox's reaction to the leak over at Entertainment Weekly.
